Coaching & Consulting
Our
Story
I'm not a life coach.
I don't do vision boards, positive affirmations, or hour-long circular Zoom sessions that feel like psychotherapy.

Put simply: I help people identify and achieve their personal and professional goals, so they can reach their fullest potential and experience success that once seemed impossible.

Whether it's finishing that book or college degree, snagging that promotion, landing a new job, starting a new business, multiplying your business revenue 10X, completing a marathon or sorting out a relationship, I can help get you there.
I can also help you eliminate habits that can impact your physical health, emotional well-being, relationships and momentum.

I'll your secret weapon that gives you an edge as we clarify your priorities, strengthen your intentions, chart a course of action and troubleshoot detours and obstacles before they happen.

I'll celebrate with you, but then I'll push you back out of your comfort zone because that's where the magic happens.

If you're looking for someone to constantly tell you you're amazing and to dream big, I'm probably not your guy. If, on the other hand, you want someone who will keep you accountable, productive, and challenge you to scale new heights with determination, balance, and poise, let's talk.

Who This Is For
You've been through something. Maybe it's a health scare, a career setback, an organizational crisis, or the slow-burning realization that the way you've been operating isn't optimal or sustainable. You're not broken - you're experienced enough to know that willpower runs out, motivation fades, and good intentions often evaporate under pressure.
You've probably tried the typical routes. Read the books. Attended the seminars. Made the commitments to yourself that lasted for a few weeks before life got in the way. You're not lacking information - you're lacking support, accountability and infrastructure.
You have responsibilities that matter - people counting on you, organizations that need you at your best, a life you've built that you can't afford to rebuild from scratch or a better life that's just around the corner.
Let's do this.
What I Bring
I'm the President/CEO of a $28 million health and human services nonprofit that serves over 35,000 people annually. I've led complex organizations through budget crises, public health emergencies, and the impossible choices that keep executives up at night. I know what it takes to make high-stakes decisions when there's no perfect option and everyone's watching.

I'm also a two-time cancer survivor (prostate cancer and stage 3B colorectal cancer) and endurance athlete who has completed dozens of triathlons, including the grueling Ironman Florida and 15 marathons. I didn't push myself to the brink because I love suffering - I did it because I needed systems that would hold when my body and my life were falling apart. Those systems worked. They're still working.

I bootstrapped a business a month after 9/11 from zero, quickly creating the largest independent online flag retailer in the world (AmericanFlags.com), before I sold it three years ago.

I have a PhD, wrote my dissertation on the science of behavior change and have 30+ years of leadership experience, but that's not why you should work with me. You should work with me because I've been in the room when the diagnosis comes. I've had to lead when I could barely stand. I've rebuilt my physical capacity from nothing, twice. I've maintained a demanding executive role while swimming, biking and running at 5 AM and managing treatment side effects.

I've published an award-winning bestselling memoir about my cancer journey, won national accolades for my work in mental health and am a keynote speaker captivating crowds of up to 5,000.

I've changed the lives of tens of thousands of people just like you. They now have an edge that you don't.

I know the difference between inspiration and infrastructure. And I know which one matters when things get hard.
How This Works
This isn't traditional coaching where we explore your feelings and try to discover your "authentic self." This is an accountability partnership for people who already have a sense as to what they need to do but aren't doing it consistently.
We work together to:
Build systems before you need them. Financial reserves. Physical capacity. Relationship depth. Professional infrastructure that doesn't require you at 100% to function. The unglamorous disciplines that hold when motivation fails.

Identify your actual constraints. Not the ones you think you have, but the real bottlenecks keeping you from the performance you need. Often it's not time or resources; it's decision-making frameworks and accountability structures.

Create external accountability. Your best intentions won't save you when you're tired, stressed, or overwhelmed. External accountability will. Someone who knows your commitments and asks you about them. Someone who won't let you off the hook with excuses that sound good but don't change anything.

Prepare for what you can't predict. You can't prepare for every crisis, but you can build the capacity to handle most of them. We focus on cross-training your life—building redundancy, creating margin, developing the systems that survive when single points of failure break.

Execute on what matters. Strategy without execution is just expensive planning. We focus on implementation, iteration, and the honest reckoning required when something isn't working.

What This Isn't
I won't tell you everything happens for a reason. I won't help you find the silver lining in your trauma. I won't suggest that your crisis was a gift or that you should be grateful for your hardest experiences.

I won't sell you on resilience as the answer. Resilience is what we call it after the fact. What you need is preparation now.
I won't pretend that positive thinking or mindset shifts will solve structural problems. Sometimes you need therapy. Sometimes you need medicine. Sometimes you need a lawyer or an accountant or someone else. I'll tell you when I think that's the case.

I also won't do the work for you. I'm not here to be your friend or your cheerleader or your therapist. I'm here to be the person who knows what you committed to and asks you if you did it.
Do this with me and you'll get better.

Investment
There are coaches who after taking a 4-hour online coaching class and getting a flimsy credential, will charge you what seems like a bargain rate, week after week, month after month, year after year, while you stay stagnant.
Your time and money could be better spent. Pay a little more, get there faster and establish systems, habits and success that sticks.

Real work requires real commitment - from both of us. Coaching packages start at $1,200 per month for weekly sessions and email check-ins. Less intensive, biweekly or occasional single sessions cost less. We can work together to figure out what you need.

If you're not sure whether this is right for you, we can start with a confidential 30-minute strategy session ($149) to assess where you are, identify your highest-leverage opportunities, and determine if working together makes sense.
