Mid-Year Swim, Bike, Run Mile Counts

Garmin Forerunner 935 Running GPS Unit (Black) watch, which links not only to Garmin Connect, but to the Training Peaks app. There’s more data there than the average person needs, but technology has made tracking simple and all of my data goes directly to my amazing coach, Danielle Sullivan from Iron Fit Endurance. She prescribes the workouts, often detailing goal pacing, duration, etc. and once I’m done, she reviews the results, sends me feedback and may adjust subsequent workouts based on performance, heart rate and how I felt.

So, here’s what I logged so far in 2018:

Swimming:  48 miles

Cycling: 1,013 miles

Running: 437 miles

I also participated in several road races and triathlons including the Eagleman 70.3 mile tri, where I beat my time last year by 21.5 minutes! I’m focused on finishing the year strong and have several races planned through the end of 2018 including the Steamtown Marathon in October. Over the next 6 months, I’ll more than double my YTD miles with an eye towards hitting 100 swimming miles, 1,000 running miles and 2,500 on the bike.

With all the talk these days about “getting comfortable about getting uncomfortable,” endurance sports are one way to get there. Will you put in some miles today?
