As a two-time cancer survivor, I owe my life to federally supported cancer research and treatment programs now facing devastating cuts. The Trump administration's reorganization of HHS will eliminate 20,000 professionals and slash funding by 35% across NIH, FDA, and CDC. These cuts threaten decades of progress that have reduced cancer death rates by 33% since 1991, saving approximately 3.8 million lives.
With 5,500 Americans diagnosed daily and 2 million annually, these patients deserve the same access to clinical trials and research-backed treatments that saved my life—not the despair of hearing "there's nothing more we can do."
