I had the pleasure of running all 86 flights or 1,576 stairs up the Empire State Building last night as part of the NYU Langone team. The annual event draws 400+ runners and the adventure was especially meaningful for me since during my cancer treatment, I could walk up five flights of stairs without needing a break.

The event was well-run and I was honored to climb with members of the NYU Langone staff and faculty. As I note in my book, Every Mile Matters: Turing Triathlon Training into Cancer Triumph, the care I've received at NYU Langone has been nothing short of amazing!

I was honored to be able to give something back as I raised more than $2,500 for NYU Langone from friends and colleagues who understand the importance and urgency of cancer care.

My total time to the top was just over 23 minutes and I can't wait until next year!
