Why Are You Waiting Until January 1st?

If you’re like me, you’ll make a great list of New Year’s resolutions in the next few days. Among the most popular resolutions people make are eating better, losing weight, exercising more, spending more time with family, less time on Facebook, budgeting money, drinking less, quitting smoking, traveling more and of course more quiet time. These are all worthwhile goals, but why not start right now? Perhaps get some tools in place to boost your readiness and reinforce your commitment to making a change.

If your goal is to eat better, start tracking what you eat – I use MyFitnessPal

If your goal is to exercise more, use a Fitbit to track your steps, exercise and sleep.

If your goal is less Internet, social media and fake news, try the Freedom app.

If you have resolved to read more and want to become more insightful and productive, check out Tools of Titans by Tim Ferris. I’m reading it right and now and will posting a review shortly.

If you are looking for a great productivity planner that’s kind of old-school, yet boasts great design and flexibility, check out the 2017 Volt Planner. At $40, it’s a great deal and if you pair it up with color coded pens, you increase the odds of sticking to your plan.

If you prefer a more modern approach to things, Coach.me makes a great habit tracker. It’s free, but you pay for premium features.

I’ll be doing a post on the top ten things that help me achieve my athletic training goals, but just got this rowing machine from my wife for Christmas and highly recommend it for a full body workout.

So, those are just a few ways to jumpstart your new year’s resolutions. With just 4 days left in 2016, take one step right now to make 2017 the year you achieve even more greatness!
